The Author tackles the problem of the reconstruction of the nature, development and function of the ancient town of Falerii Veteres, present-day Civita Castellana, in the light of its relationship to the surrounding territory and the historical-political events which dictated its decline and final abandonment in 241 a.C., the year in which Falerii was occupied and defeated by the Romans. The analysis of the site is based on the examination of previously acquired data, relating in particular to the excavations carried out at the end of the Nineteenth century, and to new data obtained through a survey carried out on the site.

Abstract
The Author tackles the problem of the reconstruction of the nature, development and function of the ancient town of Falerii Veteres, present-day Civita Castellana, in the light of its relationship to the surrounding territory and the historical-political events which dictated its decline and final abandonment in 241 a.C., the year in which Falerii was occupied and defeated by the Romans. The analysis of the site is based on the examination of previously acquired data, relating in particular to the excavations carried out at the end of the Nineteenth century, and to new data obtained through a survey carried out on the site.File in questo prodotto:
