Abstract

A method to accomplish optimal structural modifications is here presented. The procedure uses a set of the experimental frequency response functions and exhibits the feature of avoiding any previous identification process. The synthesis of the modified structure can be easily obtained through the proposed method, which can also be used to perform a preliminary sensitivity analysis. Some theoretical and experimental tests have been developed to illustrate the characteristics of the technique.
