Numerical simulation experiments are carried out on variable displacement axial piston pumps equipped with pressure and flow compensator. Five schemes of the swashplate control circuit are derived from the current design practice, and tested by forcing the load and flow inputs within a standardized environment. The relevant system responses are evaluated and compared by means of steady state and dynamic figures of merit.
