The paper reports upon numerical simulation tests carried out on a variable displacement axial piston pump equipped with multiple automatic controls. The control circuit includes three tandem valves: the first is the pressure compensator, the second is the flow compensator, the third is to be chosen between the torque limiter and the speed limiter, each demanding an auxiliary circuit which includes a swashplate position feedback. Both options are investigated in terms of steady state and dynamic response, either individually or in combination with the pressure compensator (the flow compensator is inactive).

Torque or Speed Limiter in Triple Pump Controls

1994

Abstract

The paper reports upon numerical simulation tests carried out on a variable displacement axial piston pump equipped with multiple automatic controls. The control circuit includes three tandem valves: the first is the pressure compensator, the second is the flow compensator, the third is to be chosen between the torque limiter and the speed limiter, each demanding an auxiliary circuit which includes a swashplate position feedback. Both options are investigated in terms of steady state and dynamic response, either individually or in combination with the pressure compensator (the flow compensator is inactive).
