Adding Integrity Constraints to Object-Oriented Databases

1992

Abstract

This paper presents an Object-Oriented data model with its Data Definition Language, called TQL, characterized by the possibility to express integrity constraints within the schema of a database. This work originates from the need to enrich the amount of knowledge represented, declaratively, in the database schema and processed by the DBMS, thus reducing the amount of code in the methods.
