Abstract

Over he years, a number of more or less friendly simulatio tools have been developed to assist designers of fl id pow~r systems in their investigations of systems' ynamics. Some simulation tools are general purpose imulation programs adapted to the fluid power en ironment by providing specialized libraries of compo ents, others are specifically designed to solve the typic problems of fluid power systems. AMESim, by Imagi e France, was developed within a commercial environm nt starting from a core of competencies in fluid po er, Imagine claims 200 man-years of experience in id power systems simulation, and only later extended to cover other domains. Over the years the volved into a general a simulation tool for solution f dynamic engineering problems and at the same rna ntained its high degree of specialization in applicatin to mechanical, aeronautic, fluid power and pneumati systems.
