Seven different cantaloupe F1 hybrid selected for resistance to fungal pathogens and aphids were tested for their reaction to Meloidogyne incognita and M. javanica in glasshouse experiment. Plants were grown in sandy soil infested with 12 eggs and juveniles/cm3 soil of each of the two nematode species. No hybrid was found to be resistant. The lowest susceptibility was found in Drake, whereas Castella was higly susceptible to both species. M. javanica was more virulent than M. incognita.
