A novel principle of operation and a class of "hybrid" addressing schemes for multiplexed SSFLC displays are reported. These can be generated by two voltage level drivers. We present experimental regions of operation and compare these schemes with the state of the art. They can operate with voltages smaller than those suitable for faster "high voltage" schemes.
