.A study was performed in the North area of the Venice Arsenal in order to characterise the jointing mortars and plasters applied, and evaluate the damage degree, due to the reaction between the material and atmospheric multipolluttants. Already during sampling, it was possible to observe the presence of a wide range of mortars, both air-settings and hydraulic, used as jointing and plastering material. The Arsenal of Venice represents therefore an interesting site fo study, being an unequalable field to test how materials with different physical characteristics and chemical and mineralogical composition, air setting an hydraulic mortars in this cae, react towards the same conditions of atmospheric polluttants.

Abstract
.A study was performed in the North area of the Venice Arsenal in order to characterise the jointing mortars and plasters applied, and evaluate the damage degree, due to the reaction between the material and atmospheric multipolluttants. Already during sampling, it was possible to observe the presence of a wide range of mortars, both air-settings and hydraulic, used as jointing and plastering material. The Arsenal of Venice represents therefore an interesting site fo study, being an unequalable field to test how materials with different physical characteristics and chemical and mineralogical composition, air setting an hydraulic mortars in this cae, react towards the same conditions of atmospheric polluttants.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
