This report describes the main features of the Kurgan_LT code, performing the aeroacoustic analysis of open rotors at low transonic tip speed. The Farassat formulation 1A and a new numerical procedure based on the acoustic surface integration are adopted for the evaluation of thickness and loading noise, while a three-dimensional integration scheme allows a limited quadrupole noise prediction, up to a tip Mach number of approximately 0.85. Furthermore, a brief secription of the numerical problems related to the Acoustic Analogy approach is provided.

Abstract
This report describes the main features of the Kurgan_LT code, performing the aeroacoustic analysis of open rotors at low transonic tip speed. The Farassat formulation 1A and a new numerical procedure based on the acoustic surface integration are adopted for the evaluation of thickness and loading noise, while a three-dimensional integration scheme allows a limited quadrupole noise prediction, up to a tip Mach number of approximately 0.85. Furthermore, a brief secription of the numerical problems related to the Acoustic Analogy approach is provided.File in questo prodotto:
