This paper summarizes some theoretical formulations proposed to study the scattering phenomena for the main and tail rotors due to the presence of a fuselage. In particular, a computationally efficient version of the BEM approach is introduced for both uniform and non uniform (at low Mach numbers) flows. Then, the direct use of the governing FWH equation is also treated, in the attempt of highlighting the advantages of such an approach in the numerical prediction of noise.

Abstract
This paper summarizes some theoretical formulations proposed to study the scattering phenomena for the main and tail rotors due to the presence of a fuselage. In particular, a computationally efficient version of the BEM approach is introduced for both uniform and non uniform (at low Mach numbers) flows. Then, the direct use of the governing FWH equation is also treated, in the attempt of highlighting the advantages of such an approach in the numerical prediction of noise.File in questo prodotto:
