We demonstrate active waveguide writing by a compact diode-pumped cavity dumped femtosecond Yb:glass oscillator. The waveguides are perfectly mode-matched to Standard single-mode telecom fibers at 1.55 mu m and show internal gain and laser action.

Abstract
