The aim of this work is that of investigating the Cultural District concept focusing on the innovation aspects, on the sustainable value, on the main categories and on realized examples of particular interest. The notion of cultural heritage is here considered according to a reading approach to the human constructions, which, lightened of its monoliticity and self-reference, it is seen as inserted in a context which refers back to its history, to its tradition, and to the society that contributed to its construction, enriching the territory of added value and making the people witness of its memory and identity. Moreover, this work presents a study about a possible application of the Cultural District in the framework of the PIT, in the Axis II, Cultural Resources.
