Abstract

A phytosociological contribution regarding some plant communities occurring on the volcanic substrata of Monte Lauro, the highest part of the Hyblean territory (SE Sicily), is showed. In particular, the authors describe several new associations represented by hygrophilous ephemeral communities of the Isoetion (Isoeto-Nanojuncetea), by therophytic acidophilous meadows of Tuberarion guttatae (Tuberarietea guttatae) and the basiphilous ones of the Plantagini-Catapodion marini (Stipo-Trachynietea guttatae), by perennial hemicriptophytic prairies of the Avenulo-Ampelodesmion mauritanici (Lygeo-Stipetea), by garrigues of the Cisto-Ericion (Cisto-Micromerietea) and maquis of the Oleo-Ceratonion (Quercetea ilicis).
