The present study carried out by IPSEMA in collaboration with INSEAN, aims to build a model to assess airborne asbestos fiber exposure of seafarers based on criteria of reasonable likelihood with data on the maritime sector and other fields. The legislation recognizes the exposure of those workers who have worked with asbestos or who have carried out activities with exposure to an annual mean concentration (CMA) > 100 ff/liter on average 8 hours per day.
