In this paper we describe the mechanical behaviour, by determination of the Young's module in the elastic range, on six samples representing the principal lathoid typologies present in the Sicilian area, using computer aided speckle interferometry technique. In order to verify the reliability of the method we employed also the well developed technique of Michelson interferometry, and compared the results obtained with the two techniques.
