The joint NEREUS and European Space Agency publication, The Growing Use of GMES across Europe's Regions, was launched at the European Parliament on Wednesday 10 October 2012. It is a rich collection of over 60 illustrative articles portraying examples of Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) use across Europe. The publication, which gives a first-hand impression of the impact of GMES on regional development, addresses policy makers and the general public in non-specialist language. It aims to generate reflection on the growing importance of the role of GMES in supporting applications related to the management and conservation of regional territories. The launch at the European Parliament helped to achieve this by bringing the publication to the attention of politicians, representatives of EU institutions and EU regional authorities as well as to the NEREUS and space communities.
