The old problem of the interpretation of the emission properties of Tl+ centers in alkali-halides is reconsidered in the light of recent experimental evidences relative to anomalous decay in the slow-emission component. Statistical-Dynamical Validity of a Jahn-Teller Model for Tl+ Luminescence

2002

Abstract

The old problem of the interpretation of the emission properties of Tl+ centers in alkali-halides is reconsidered in the light of recent experimental evidences relative to anomalous decay in the slow-emission component. A plausible interpretation, based on the Jahn-Teller model in its simpler version, is proposed considering the statistical dependence on the ensemble of the luminescence centers and the concurrent effect of the dynamical relaxation of the lattice.
