Abstract
The characterization of 1/f(alpha) scaling behaviour in normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) satellite data of forest ecosystems in southern Italy has been performed using the multiple segmenting method (MSM) and detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA). Our findings point out to the characterization of Mediterranean forest ecosystems as governed by persistent mechanisms, which indicate positive feedbacks tending to destabilize the system tinder external forces or perturbations.File in questo prodotto:
