The microwave spectra of 3-methoxyphenol and of its O-D monodeuterated species have been investigated in the frequency range 28-40 GHz. Of the four possible conformers upon rotation of the hydroxy and methoxy groups only one has been observed. Three vibrational satellites of the methoxy group torsion have been analyzed and the local potential energy surface has been determined.
