Second-order volumetric perturbative reciprocal theory (VPRT), which has a direct theoretical interest to scattering in random media including up to second-order effects, is presented. Expression for the scattering field are directly given in terms of meaningful reactions, i.e. involving physical observable quantities. Distribution theory for discontinuous test functions provides the rigorous mathematical backbone of the general VPRT formulation, so conferring conceptual elegance to the theoretical construct. In this paper, a conceptual and mathematical new approach of interest in electromagnetic scattering analysis is then introduced and discussed.

Abstract

Second-order volumetric perturbative reciprocal theory (VPRT), which has a direct theoretical interest to scattering in random media including up to second-order effects, is presented. Expression for the scattering field are directly given in terms of meaningful reactions, i.e. involving physical observable quantities. Distribution theory for discontinuous test functions provides the rigorous mathematical backbone of the general VPRT formulation, so conferring conceptual elegance to the theoretical construct. In this paper, a conceptual and mathematical new approach of interest in electromagnetic scattering analysis is then introduced and discussed.
