Rapporti ISTISAN 12/48 (in Italian)The aim of this study has been to examine first two spongy bone tissue samples starting from microtomographicimages and then carrying out the analysis through the use of mathematical morphology's theory. This approach hasbeen considered really interesting as it correlates the morphometric and structural parameters proposed withmechanical properties of bone, which depend from the spatial organization of trabeculae. Some indicators has beenintroduced as following: the curve of trabeculae size distribution and the curves of connectivity. These indicators,which allowed to characterize the internal structure of bone tissue, had given evidence of the physiological andpathological nature/origin(?) of the samples analyzed.
