This paper presents the analyses carried out to address the impact on the power quality of the Extra High Voltage Italian network due to the operation of thermonuclear fusion experiments located in Padova, north-east of Italy. In particular, the impact of a full scale prototype of the 1MV Neutral Beam Injector (NBI) of the ITER experiment, which is currently under development, will be analyzed. The simultaneous operation of both NBI and the RFX-mod experiment, already existing and in operation at the same site since 2004, will be assessed. A detailed frequency model of the high voltage grid surrounding the facilities supplying node has been setup and simulated using ATP-EMTP program to support the analyses, in particular on the harmonics.

Abstract
This paper presents the analyses carried out to address the impact on the power quality of the Extra High Voltage Italian network due to the operation of thermonuclear fusion experiments located in Padova, north-east of Italy. In particular, the impact of a full scale prototype of the 1MV Neutral Beam Injector (NBI) of the ITER experiment, which is currently under development, will be analyzed. The simultaneous operation of both NBI and the RFX-mod experiment, already existing and in operation at the same site since 2004, will be assessed. A detailed frequency model of the high voltage grid surrounding the facilities supplying node has been setup and simulated using ATP-EMTP program to support the analyses, in particular on the harmonics.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
