Reduction of monothioanthraquinone (TAQ) under a variety of conditions leads to the formation of the corresponding radical anion. ESR studies indicate that Group 14 organometallic radicals react with TAQ by selectively adding to the carbon-sulphur double bond. Similar thiophilic attack is also ahown by phosphorus-centred radicals, *Mn(CO)5, and *Re(CO)5.

Abstract
Reduction of monothioanthraquinone (TAQ) under a variety of conditions leads to the formation of the corresponding radical anion. ESR studies indicate that Group 14 organometallic radicals react with TAQ by selectively adding to the carbon-sulphur double bond. Similar thiophilic attack is also ahown by phosphorus-centred radicals, *Mn(CO)5, and *Re(CO)5.File in questo prodotto:
