Abstract

Polyvinylpiridinium hydrobromide perbromide (PVPBP) films have been formed onto Pt electrodes by oxidation of Br- in either aqueous or propylene carbonate solutions containing 4- vinylpyridine. It is shown that the Br2 /Br- redox couple is stored in the deposited films which, in their oxidized form. behave as electronic conductors. Charge capacity, slightly affected by pH variations in the range 1-7, drops in the presence of ZnZ* ions.
