The present study represents an innovative example of land management aimed at reuse with tourism purposes, through environmental recovery and enhancement of some abandoned quarries that have become artificial basins (lakes). The project has set as its objective the creation of a small "tourist district" able to host and make different tourism businesses better express themselves. The initia-tives of these companies are presently focused on an area of 300,000 square me-ters of private property, occupied by two artificial lakes resulting from the reuse of disused quarries, but the project involves the territory requalification of over 90 hectares of a highly degraded area. On the whole, the project provided for the con-struction of a BIO-PARK dedicated to welfare, culture and sustainable tourism, all included in a frame of particular natural value. The study area represents a portion of the campanian plain area included in the relevant area of Castel Volturno Municipality, near Caserta. This area falls within the perimeter of the area called "Lago Patria and neighbouring lakes" inside the SIN (Site of National Interest) Domitian Phlegrean and Agro Aversano Coast (Law n° 426/98).

Abstract
This area falls within the perimeter of the area called "Lago Patria and neighbouring lakes" inside the SIN (Site of National Interest) Domitian Phlegrean and Agro Aversano Coast (Law n° 426/98).I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
