Una lekanis etrusca a figure rosse. Significato ed uso della forma vascolare a Cerveteri

The study, starting with the presentation of an unpublished Etruscan red-figure lekanis, found in Cerveteri, on the one hand, deepens our knowledge of the production of Etruscan red-figured pottery, and on the other hand, of the use of this shape in Etruria during the Hellenistic period, with particular reference to Cerveteri. The data show that in Etruria the small red figure lekanis was used as an object for the female toilet, under the influence of the Greek world, and as a vessel connected to the mundus muliebris, and perhaps, for that reason, as a wedding gift. However, the "domestic" version was used to store or serve food, as evidenced by the painted representation in the Tomb Golini I.

Lo studio, partendo dalla presentazione di un'inedita lekanis etrusca a figure rosse, trovata a Cerveteri, da un lato, approfondisce la nostra conoscenza sulla produzione di ceramica etrusca a figure rosse, e dall'altro, sull'uso di questa forma vascolare in Etruria in età ellenistica, con particolare riguardo a Cerveteri. I dati mostrano che in Etruria la piccola lekanis a figure rosse è stata usata come oggetto per la toilette femminile, sotto l'influsso del mondo greco, e come vaso collegato al mundus muliebris, e forse, per questo motivo, come regalo di nozze. Tuttavia, la versione "domestica" è stata utilizzata per conservare o servire alimenti, come dimostra la raffigurazione dipinta nella tomba Golini I.
