The MIPAS2D database has been developed applying the tomographic analysis technique GMTR to the measurements acquired in nominal observation mode of the complete MIPAS mission. The GMTR technique enables to obtain the vertical distribution of a variety of atmospheric trace gases on a fixed altitude latitude grid. The validation exercise of the database is on-going. Here we report the comparison of the MIPAS2D data with ACE-FTS data performed during the MIPAS Quality Working Group activities. The considered molecules are CFC-11 CFC-12 and ClONO2. While CFC-11 and CFC-12 are diurnallly stable molecules, and therefore they are easily comparable with correlative measurements, ClONO2 concentrations show diurnal variability, therefore their validation is highly dependent from the acquisition time.
