The volume The Vatican Manuscript of Spinoza's «Ethica», edited by Leen Spruit and Pina Totaro, that is being published at the editor Brill in Leiden, contains the complete text of this work. It is the only surviving manuscript of the Ethics, and it is the only manuscript ever known, of any of the philosophers' works, a part for some letters and the Short Treatise on God, Man and His Well-Being. The Ethics was published in the Opera posthuma at the end of 1677, but this manuscript preceeds the print. It is presented here the new of this discovery and some aspects of the history of the manuscript.
