Abstract
At the beginning of early modern times the definition of heretic could not be regarded as unique, much as the notion of a heretic was changing, so his representation changed. The sixteenth-century religious revolution among the many changes that resulted, led also to encourage a diversity of representations of theological values that were involved. As far as iconography is mindful of the incredible event on the representations of the sacred: that is, they disappeared. In fact, some old, remained ongoing iconoclastic ideas over time and were recovered by the Reformation. The images not only disappeared, of course, all that apparatus ecclesiastical and ritual rendered superfluous by the Reformation, saints, sacraments, etc.., But also in the depictions of God, Jesus and Mary, who in the eyes of the Reformers were but idols junk and used by those who could not, otherwise, to teach the holy doctrine.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
