The Sicilian paleontologist Giuseppe Seguenza (1833-1889) built-up a rich collection of fossils in which he placed most of the type material of the taxa he described. After his premature death, this collection was increased by his son Luigi until 1908, when the big earthquake of Messina killed him and destroyed great part of the collection. Giuliano Ruggieri, in occasion of the Centenary of Giuseppe Seguenza's death, invited the paleontologists to restore a neo-/topo-type archive. This paper deals with two taxa introduced by Giuseppe Seguenza but never found again after their descriprion. Some fossil species found in the rich Pliocenic outcrop of Rio Allbonello (Ravenna) have been recognized to be co-specific with Chrysallida obliquisculpta and Limea hoernesi, two taxa introduced by Seguenza. C obliquisculpta has been obtained from truly bathyal paleocommunities, characterized by the presence of Bathyspinula excisa and Austrotindaria pusio salicensis, or upper bathyal ones, characterized by the presence of Korobkovia oblonga and Jupiteria concava; Limea hoernesi instead, has been recovered from shallower circalittoral deposits.
