Allixia acicularis postica. Gongerot. Fekih & Le Renard, 1977 (Fam. Pelycidiidae) is here ranked to a full species status, and Allixia Cossmann, 1913 is considered as a junior synonim of Pelycidion. Material referred to Pelycidion posticum recovered from In organogenous sandy body from the Piacenzian (Middle Pliocene) of Romagna (Northern-Italy), is described and illustrated in detail. This species was formerly known only from the Pliocene of Tunisia and there were no fossil records of Pelycidion from Italy. Furthermore. a single shell of Pelycidion from the Pliocene of Tuscany, most probably represents a second undescribed Pliocene species.
