Abstract
This paper deals with the conceptual design of an additional adaptronic device for machine tools. This novel module is based on piezoelectric actuators and flexures and it can be used to compensate quasi-static system deflection caused by the cutting forces. The active module was design exploiting a mechatronic model of the overall system, moreover including the model of the milling process. The active module prototype was assembled on a real machine centre and some preliminary experimental tests were also performed.File in questo prodotto:
