This paper presents the psychological analysis for designing a virtual environment (VE) supporting the upper limb rehabilitation of post-stroke patients. The environment is not a merely entertainment but an interface enabling to investigate patient's emotional and physical state influencing the rehabilitation, self-perception of the body and the exercise and self-evaluation of the performance and of the results obtained through the entire rehabilitation path. The paper presents the environment discussing its different cognitive elements and selected choices according to the related state of the art.
