High-efficiency collimation and beam extraction using channeling was studied in very short bent crystals. 70 GeV protons were channeled and extracted using a silicon crystal from the U-70 accelerator with an efficiency of 85.3 ± 2.8%. This demonstration was found to be significant for developing more efficient use of the U-70 accelerator in Protvino and implementing crystal-assisted collimation and extraction in other machines.

Abstract
High-efficiency collimation and beam extraction using channeling was studied in very short bent crystals. 70 GeV protons were channeled and extracted using a silicon crystal from the U-70 accelerator with an efficiency of 85.3 ± 2.8%. This demonstration was found to be significant for developing more efficient use of the U-70 accelerator in Protvino and implementing crystal-assisted collimation and extraction in other machines.File in questo prodotto:
