El uso de la teledetección como ayuda en la inspección virtual de los sitios geológicos de la región de Rabat-Salé- Zemmour-Zaër y su extensión en el Atlas Medio es un medio de sensibilización y promoción de los recursos naturales paisajísticos de Marruecos. El presente trabajo muestra el interés geológico de estos lugares y el excelente potencial de la Teledetección y los SIG en la interpretación de las características geológicas y geomorphologicas. En esta óptica, es necesario un conocimiento exhaustivo de estos entornos, mediante los sensores remotos, con el fin de realizar los diagnósticos pertinentes de forma periódica. Esto implicaría tener una cartografía de alta resolución con el fin de desarrollar una base de datos completa de todos los lugares geomorfológicos de la región.
