The complex nonlinearity of polydiacetylene polyDCHD-HS in toluene solutions was measured at ?= 1064 and 1500 nm by using Z-scan and picosecond pulses. The values of the real part of second ordermolecular hyperpolarizability ?were -2.3 ×10-47 and -3×10-47m5/V2 at 1064 and 1500 nm, respectively, while the nonlinear absorption could be better modeled with a three-photon process at both wavelengths.

Abstract

The complex nonlinearity of polydiacetylene polyDCHD-HS in toluene solutions was measured at ?= 1064 and 1500 nm by using Z-scan and picosecond pulses. The values of the real part of second ordermolecular hyperpolarizability ?were -2.3 ×10-47 and -3×10-47m5/V2 at 1064 and 1500 nm, respectively, while the nonlinear absorption could be better modeled with a three-photon process at both wavelengths.
