This paper discusses three main approaches to quality assessment, such as: the organizational structure including human, physical and financial resources, necessary to health care; the care process referring to a sequence of actions or activities that transform inputs, provided by the physicians, in output received by patients; and the result denoting the output of the technical process, the benefit arising from the process as assessed by the patient according to its expectations.
