Autour du petit enfant: entre mères et grands-mères

Autour d'un petit enfant, les rôles et les rapports entre les personnes des différentes générations au sein de la famille se redéfinissent. En particulier, la participation de la grand-mère à la garde de l'enfant a des implications autant matérielles que psychologiques pour la mère et la grand-mère. Cette étude aborde l'analyse des rapports entre les mères et les grands-mères du petit enfant. On étude analyse 6 interviews de groupe, auxquelles ont pris part des groupes mixtes de mères et de grands-mères, invitées à se confronter sur ces thèmes. L'analyse des interviews met en évidence des les problèmes inhérents aux rapports entre mères et grands-mères tant au niveau du partage de la garde et l'éducation de l'enfant que pour ce qui est de la définition des rôles réciproques.

The presence of a young child involves redefining roles and relations within the extended family. Particularly, grandmother's care of the child involves a variety of material and psychological aspects for both mother and grandmother. This study aims to analyse the relations among mothers and grandmothers of young children. 6 focus group interviews were conducted with groups of mothers and grandmothers about their relations and sharing care of the child. The analysis of the interviews showed the problems that rise in the relations between mother and grandmother with reference to the shared care of the child and the definition of their reciprocal roles.
