Mixed ferrite samples of the ZnxFe3-xO4 system have been prepared by the solution method aiming at the obtention of submicrometric monodispersed particles. The crystalline structure, chemical composition and morphology of the samples was studied by means of X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The results obtained in this characterization evidenced (for samples of a given nominal composition) the uniformity in shape and size of the particles and their chemical homogenity down to the particle level. Nevertheless, measurements of the specific magnetization of the samples suggest some degree of inhomogeneity in the intraparticle cationic distribution.

Abstract
Mixed ferrite samples of the ZnxFe3-xO4 system have been prepared by the solution method aiming at the obtention of submicrometric monodispersed particles. The crystalline structure, chemical composition and morphology of the samples was studied by means of X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The results obtained in this characterization evidenced (for samples of a given nominal composition) the uniformity in shape and size of the particles and their chemical homogenity down to the particle level. Nevertheless, measurements of the specific magnetization of the samples suggest some degree of inhomogeneity in the intraparticle cationic distribution.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
