Fully nonlinear numerical solutions of splashes generated during water entry will be presented. Several problems will be discussed, both in time domain and in self similar variables. Solutions referring to the sudden start of a flat plate, originally floating on the still water surface, will be shown both in the very early stage, when a small time approximation can be exploited, and in the long time range. The initial development of the splash and its time evolution will be presented. Comparisons with the corresponding axisymmetric problem will be established as well. Results for the splashes formed by the separation of the flow from the chine of finite wedges with different deadrise angles will be also shown. Finally, some results about the weak splash formed in the wake of a ditching plate will be given.
