The Working Paper analyses the effectiveness of aggregate charges in Italy. The country study is based on the original reconstruction of data and information from interviews with industrial and administrative actors involved in the aggregates industry. It also takes into account the very complex planning, authorisation, and regulation system related to quarrying activities prevailing in Italy. Two regional case studies (Lombardy and Emilia Romagna) are also provided.
