We have investigated the photoinduced conductivity in nominally pure single crystals of SrTiO3 by means of Time Domain TeraHertz Spectroscopy. The photoconductivity is excited by fs laser pulses with photon energy suitable for generating electron-hole pairs and probed by ps single-cycle THz pulses. The photoinduced conductivity in the THz range of frequency is investigated as a function of temperature for a better understanding of the microscopic nature of the charge carriers that are generated in this material when excited by light. Preliminary results and analysis of these experiments are described in this brief report.

Abstract
We have investigated the photoinduced conductivity in nominally pure single crystals of SrTiO3 by means of Time Domain TeraHertz Spectroscopy. The photoconductivity is excited by fs laser pulses with photon energy suitable for generating electron-hole pairs and probed by ps single-cycle THz pulses. The photoinduced conductivity in the THz range of frequency is investigated as a function of temperature for a better understanding of the microscopic nature of the charge carriers that are generated in this material when excited by light. Preliminary results and analysis of these experiments are described in this brief report.File in questo prodotto:
