The alternative food market has greatly increased in the last years. Locally we notice, though, some differences in this specific market systems. If in Northern Italy (such as Trentino Alto Adige, Lombardia, Emilia Romagna and Valle d'Aosta) has spread to more GAS (Gruppo di Acquisto Solidale-Solidarity Buyers Group), in Southern Italy, however, is more present the Slow Food. In our opinion, the reasons is that GAS need a specific network to make the short relation producer/consumer run. The GAS are more active where they can find more associations and social companies. Slow Food, more "gastronomy" oriented and focus on food non only for nutrition but also as social and cultural tool. In this perspective, Slow Food results more attractive for areas where these value are stronger
