Abstract

Binary Fresnel lenses are fabricated by ablation of PMMA substrates with a femtosecond laser. The minimum feature size in our experimental conditions is 600 nm. Lenses with good transparency and focal lengths in the range from 500 mu m to 5mm are obtained, with a maximum efficiency close to the theoretical one.
