A new and decisive impulse to the geological knowledge of Cilento is derived by the CARG 1:50.000 maps. These new surveys allowed a revision of the stratigraphy and structure of the Oligo-Miocene units belonging to the "Internidi" whole.This review also given the requirement for a new interpretation, according to the sequence stratigraphy criteria, of the Miocene units sedimented in the Cilento basin.
