Abstract

The main objective of this study is to evaluate some mixing height schemes, used in today's meteorological pre-processors (eg the Italian ABLE and the US EPA CALMET) while comparing calculated values against observed values for a rural site in the Po Valley, Northern Italy. The observed mixing heights have been inferred from sonic anemometer and sodar measurements at San Pietro Capofiume during two field campaigns: a summer one and a winter one.
