The reaction of complexes I (R = H, o-, m-, p-Cl, m-MeO, o-Me, 2,5-Me2; R1 = Cl) with Me3CO2CNHOH gave 90-5% I (R1 = ONHCO2CMe3), decomplexation of which gave 79-95% II (R1 = ONHCO2CMe3), which was hydrolyzed with HCl in Et2O to give 60-89% II (R1 = ONH2.HCl).
