Cu2+ coordination by a tridentate phenanthroline-related derivative (P120) was examined and compared to phenanthroline. Results from X-ray analysis underlined significant increments in the N-Cu bond lengths in Cu(P120)(H2O)SO4 which are counterbalanced by a closer approach of the apical oxygen donors to the metal. These modifications may be related to the different properties observed in physiological environment. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract
Cu2+ coordination by a tridentate phenanthroline-related derivative (P120) was examined and compared to phenanthroline. Results from X-ray analysis underlined significant increments in the N-Cu bond lengths in Cu(P120)(H2O)SO4 which are counterbalanced by a closer approach of the apical oxygen donors to the metal. These modifications may be related to the different properties observed in physiological environment. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.File in questo prodotto:
