Mineral prospecting for zeolite occurrences was carried out in central and northern Sardinia. In central Sardinia (Nureci-Fordongianus sector) the most intensively zeolitized flows occur in the unwelded ash- and pumice-rich pyroclastic facies of Allai-Samugheo, where the highest concentrations in zeolite-group minerals have been recognized, and in the Asuni units. In the Nureci-Fordongianus sector, the deposits display vertical zoning characterized by an increase in Cl and a decrease in Mo contents, from the top to the bottom of the series, and local occurrences of minor analcime. The epiclastite of Monte Ossoni outcrops over an area of approximately 2 km2, in a lens-shaped incoherent level, ranging from 1 to 10 m in thickness; the very fine to coarse grain size fraction includes Cenozoic volcanic and Paleozoic shale lithics. The epiclastic deposits of Monte Ossoni principally consists of Clinoptilolite and mordenite ly, with varying abundances of other minerals

Abstract
The epiclastic deposits of Monte Ossoni principally consists of Clinoptilolite and mordenite ly, with varying abundances of other mineralsI documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
